Returns and Warranty Policy

Last updated: 3 September 2026. This policy sits alongside your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, which it does not limit.

Faulty goods

If goods are defective, unsafe or not as described, you may return them within six months of delivery for repair, replacement or refund, as the Consumer Protection Act provides. Bring the goods to us with proof of purchase, or arrange collection with us first.

Manufacturer warranty

Most products carry a manufacturer warranty. The period depends on the manufacturer and the product, and is stated on the product page or the manufacturer documentation where it is known. Warranty claims are handled through the manufacturer or their local agent, and we will lodge and follow the claim for you.

Warranty does not cover damage caused by lightning or power surge, water ingress on equipment not rated for it, incorrect installation, incorrect voltage, insect or rodent damage, physical damage, or use outside the manufacturer's specification. Batteries and consumables carry the warranty stated by their manufacturer and are excluded from wear-related claims.

Change of mind

Unused, unopened stock items in original packaging may be returned for a credit at our discretion, provided you contact us promptly after purchase. A handling fee may apply, which we confirm to you before the return is accepted. Special-order items, cut cable, programmed equipment and software cannot be returned for change of mind.

Repairs

Items booked in for repair are assessed first. If a repair is not covered by warranty we quote before doing any work. Unclaimed items may be disposed of after we have given you written notice and a reasonable opportunity to collect them, in line with the law.

How to start a return

Phone the counter or send us a message with your invoice number, the product code and what is wrong. Please keep the original packaging where you can.

What is not a defect

Equipment that has stopped working because of lightning or power surge, water where the product is not rated for it, incorrect voltage or polarity, incorrect installation or programming, insect or rodent damage, physical or accidental damage, unauthorised repair, or use outside the manufacturer's specification, is not defective for the purposes of a warranty claim. Assessment is by the manufacturer or their agent, and their finding is what determines the outcome of the claim.

Proof of purchase

A claim needs the invoice number and, where the product carries one, the serial number. Please keep both.

Turnaround

Warranty claims go to the manufacturer or their local agent, so the turnaround is theirs rather than ours. We keep you posted on progress. We are not liable for downtime, loss of use, call-out costs or any other loss while a claim is in progress.

Batteries and consumables

Batteries are consumable items. Capacity falls with age and with the number of charge cycles, and load shedding cycles them hard, so reduced runtime over time is normal wear rather than a defect.
