How we got here
Three decades on the same corner, under two names and three generations of ownership.

Roan Security opens
The business starts trading in Bergvliet and spends two decades building a name for product knowledge rather than volume.

2014
RSEC Security Equipment Centre
Ronnie Thomson and Dylon Marais take the business on and rename it, keeping the counter and the customer base.

Registered as a Pty Ltd
The company formalises, which is what opens the door to trade accounts and manufacturer distribution agreements.

Does RSEC sell to the public, or only to installers? +
Both. Anyone can buy over the counter and anyone can send an enquiry through this site. Registered trade accounts additionally see trade pricing once they are logged in.
Where is RSEC based? +
On the corner of Main and Hawthorne Roads in Bergvliet, Cape Town. The counter is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8.30am to 1pm, closed on public holidays.
Do you deliver outside Cape Town? +
Yes. Orders ship nationwide, and stock held in Cape Town can usually be collected the same day. Delivery cost and lead time come back with your quote.
How do I get trade pricing? +
Register an account and apply for trade. Once RSEC approves the application, trade pricing and the trade price list appear automatically whenever you are logged in.
Which brands does RSEC carry? +
Ajax, Centurion Systems, Dahua, ET Nice, EZVIZ, Hikvision, HiLook, IDS, Kocom, Nemtek, Olarm, Paradox, Takex, Texecom and Upowa among others. The full range on the price list is wider than what is listed online, so ask if you do not see it.
